Fall is here and bringing with it a lot of change. The trees are starting to shed their leaves and we're reaping the last burst of vegetation during fall harvest. Fall is the season of vata and transition. This means that vata energy is growing in nature–and therefore ourselves. Vata is composed of air and either and vata's qualities are light, changeable, mobile, rough and dry. We may begin to see the influence of vata manifest in our mind and bodies this season as: dry skin, insomnia, constipation, fear, and anxiety.
It is more important than ever to have a strong seasonal routine in place to stay vata balanced this fall. Choose warm, steady, and grounding activities. Make sure that you are eating warm seasonal foods to balance the airy nature of vata.
Below is a short video on 5 Ayurvedic Fall Practices that you can incorporate into your life this Autumn. I'll be creating a lot more videos so look out for them.
