Hey everybody, it’s Sheetal AKA Dr. Seeta. I'm the founder of Journey into Spirit: A Complete Course in Ayurveda.

And today, I’m so excited to invite you to experience the healing power of Ayurvedic Medicine. It's totally changed my life, and I know it will help you too!

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word, meaning the science of life. It’s a comprehensive system of medicine over 5,000 years old, originating in ancient India.  Ayurveda is a sister practice to yoga, and promotes TOTAL mind-body-spirit healing, encompassing ALL facets of life.

HOW AYURVEDA HEALED MY LIFE

The wisdom of Ayurveda has been in my family for generations. Healing recipes and herbal formulas have been passed on from generation to generation. My great-grandmother was the medicine woman and midwife in a small village in India.  She used to grow medicinal herbs and brew up remedies to alleviate all sorts of conditions. The entire village came to her for healing guidance. It's crazy...cause know my friends and family comes to me.

Growing up, anytime anyone in my family got sick, my mother went into her kitchen before going to the medicine cabinet. Whenever possible, she healed through food, which for her, WAS medicine. I have many memories of her whipping up some concoction of healing foods or herbal teas, and helping her family feel better FAST. These early experiences opened my eyes to natural medicine.

As a collegiate Division I athlete, my pursuit of peak performance in water polo triggered an exploration into nutrition, sports medicine and kinesiology. As the co-captain of the women’s water polo team at the University of Michigan, I studied the brain, the mind-body connection, and exercise physiology because I wanted to be better, stronger, faster, smarter — and I wanted the same for my teammates. I performed well athletically and academically, but looking back I realize that I was out-of-balance: I was always exhausted, I suffered from brain fog (even though I had decent grades), and I even broke out in Shingles mid-season, during finals week.

After graduating, I worked as a personal trainer in Hollywood, and I guided hundreds of clients to achieve their fitness goals – at least the toned glutes and ripped abs everyone thought they wanted. But I could see, both in my clients and myself, that these external markers didn’t seem to correlate to true wellbeing.  In fact, despite my toned body, I didn’t feel healthy or expansive – in mind, body or spirit.

For years, I blindly followed western nutrition and counted calories and vitamin content. I didn’t look at the quality of what I was consuming or my digestive ability. Because then, I didn’t know what I know now, that whole organic living foods and digestive function are the keystones of optimal health. I lived on high-protein, low fat, processed foods, and loads of caffeine and energy drinks. Although my body looked fit on the outside, my body and spirit were deprived of real nourishment.

As a personal trainer, my health deteriorated. Physically, I was chronically inflamed, constipated and fatigued. Mentally, I was becoming something of a space cadet. At around 22 years old, I suffered from excruciating back pain that forced me to take a couple of weeks off from work. I didn’t know what was wrong with me, but I now know this was a classic case of VATA-PITTA imbalance which could have easily been healed rectified or avoided altogether. I was literally overworking myself, doing the wrong workouts for my constitution and eating all the wrong things.

I neglected a holistic approach to fitness because I didn’t know better. As a result of this internal imbalance, I unknowingly attracted more imbalance into my life. I sank into negative behaviors. I entered into toxic relationships, I measured my worth and beauty based on external things, and I engaged in negative self-talk. My self-esteem was low and my boundaries poor.  I often felt depressed, hopeless, lost, low-in-energy, disconnected, without purpose, and alone.

Meditation and Ayurveda saved me.

I ended up at a 10-day meditation course,  where I sat in silence for over 10 hours a day for 10 days.   The silence woke ME up; I had been sleeping for all these years. It was within this long silence I realized I wasn’t alone. I was connected. I had access to a powerful infinite resource within me, I never knew existed. I experienced peace, love, and understanding in a way I had never before. I began to feel reconnected to my spirit and the wisdom of my ancestral lineage.

My Journey into Spirit and Ayurveda began here. It guided me to personal healing and to become an ayurvedic doctor so I could help others avoid the painful mistakes I made.

I believe Ayurveda can transform your life on every level because it has helped me heal deeply, it has elevated my life in everyway, it has shifted my mindset, my health, my performance and my relationship with myself, the world and ultimately Creator. Ayurveda nourished my intuition and helped me trust my inner voice and primal knowing. Deep down inside, we all know things. We all have access to higher levels of being. We have the power to heal and reach incredible heights, and achieve our wildest dreams. The goal of Ayurveda is the self-realization of our powerful infinite Self.

I’m now healthier than I have ever been in mind, body, spirit.  And because of this internal balance, I find myself naturally attracting beautiful minds, brilliant souls, and incredible opportunities I have dreamed of. When we are healthy, we are more aligned, and become more powerful manifestors and magnets.

I bring together over 13 years of personal experience and academic training in both eastern healing arts and western sciences in this comprehensive and interactive course.

You will develop a new lens through which to view life, one that offers a complete and holistic approach, and seeks to treat the root causes of physical and mental imbalances directly at their source.

We discuss the importance of Cultivating Awareness in self-healing and self-care. The deep healing potential of common household spices can be used to reverse aging, as well as treat insomnia, constipation, chronic pain, and a variety of other conditions and concerns.

For thousands of years, turmeric, ginger and other spices served as the primary  household apothecary in every Indian kitchen. We will empower you to use spices and herbs as healing agents and preventative medicine while adding more flavor to your food.

In Module V,  we Create Your Herbal Medicine Cabinet

Just as there is wisdom in our bodies, there is wisdom in plants. Plant medicines can teach us to live more fearlessly, love more openly and let go more easily of what we no longer need.

We will discover the gifts of plants like Ashwaganda, Maca, Tulsi and others so that we can access greater levels of performance and consciousness in our lives.

Nature can heal us.
